Hello! It’s been a while. How’s it going?
Since our last mail we have finally begun our ‘Planet Road UK Tour’ in the motorhome ‘Jupiter’ & we are absolutely stoked to be on the road.
All has been going well apart from a minor collision with a bank has seen the motorhome need some urgent repairs.
We started with a radio show at CCR in Chelmsford with DJ Shakey who has been championing our music since our arrival here, we chatted about the many things and played a few acoustic songs. You can hear it here.
Our first port of call for a gig was Coda bar in Colchester supporting the excellent disco post punk of Foxtrot Oscar, although we felt a bit rusty our gig was well received and we were humbled by the comments we received after the show. We hope to be back to Colchester soon.
We followed this up with an acoustic show in what is essentially a fish and chip / bar in Dereham. Some local press and a 60th birthday ensured a pretty good crowd that gave us a really warm reception. We sang songs from our ‘Soap box 21’ project and a few older tunes. With a few Tottenham fans in the house one song ‘Peasant Life’ went down especially well.
Next up was a one man and his dog showcase slot at the ‘Brickmakers’ in Norwich. Big stage, great sound and ummmmm 2 people yet they were so enthusiastic about our project after our show that we could only walk away feeling positive about things. We were back there on saturday for an acoustic slot with three other acts and a much better gig. It was one of those life affirming nights that I think everyone needed - awesome!
We are now excited to deliver a music & expression workshop for refugees with Norwich International Youth Propject and then another with Vision Norfolk where will be delivering a workshop for the visually impaired. Because of the pandemic we have been unable to deliver this style of workshop for two years, it is as much a part of us as playing a gig so we really look forward to it.
If anyone is reading this in the UK or with friends in the UK, please get in touch if you would like a community workshop delivered in your area by us. More info can be found here.
Behind the scenes we have been preparing further to complete our fourth album, the last four songs have been chosen and now it has tentative title of ‘Poets in Jeopardy’. The last songs most definitely make it more upbeat and snappier than our last whilst still sounding like it could be a sister album to it. We are aiming for a spring 2022 release - watch this space.
Although we have not been posting recently on social media about it, the graphic novel project we are involved in is also edging forwards with artist ‘Oriol Tuca’ continuing his magnificent work preparing the story for publishing presentation. It’s a long road & a massive learning curve but we are getting there.
Also just last week DJ Jash released Mixtape one which features a track we collaborated on called 'Fall Away'. With scuffed beats, spanish rap, whispered vocals, tripped out bass & synth's - it makes for some interesting listening.
And finally, this is our last message that we will be sending in this form as we will be beginning a new fanzine project! It will be landing in your inbox soon.
Thanks for your support
